My statement goes unchanged. Even if Paul had won popular vote in the STATE and ALL districts, and Santorum's supporters, by following the party rules had won the FULL slate of delegates, I would not feel cheated. I would be upset and sad at OUR GUYS for not doing better, but I would feel it was a justly deserved victory for Santorum's delegates. I would applaud them as such.
For example, Romney wound up performing very well in the Virgin Islands. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but he used a very smart tactic. Instead of filling the full slate of 6 delegates, he only had 3. Paul's votes were spread thin over the 6 delegates, while Romney managed to garner more votes for each of his 3. He wound up winning the delegates due to playing the game better.
I can't deny I want my candidate of choice to win. However I do NOT want to win by cheating. That is not a win at all.
I can not presume that you feel differently, simply because you support Santorum. Am I wrong?
