Comment: The police did not call themselves

Mrs Wilson called the police to PROTECT HERSELF AND PROPERTY from Jody who was armed and dangerous.

The police protected Mrs. Wilson's person and property, and did not lose any more lives in the process.

They did a hard job and they did it well. Mrs Wilson survived unharmed, as did her property.

The police are not trained to be suicide missionaries to save others. They are trained to protect themselves so they can protect others. This also goes for life gurads, parameds, you name it. Anyone who faces the public is trained to protect themselves.
