I do not believe any word in this article
NYC is famous for draconian zoning laws and tight gov control. The fact the government 1) allowed private farming in a residential area and 2) did not put NYC huge property tax on land & real estate that engage in any business, tells me it is a subsidized government controlled or bribed adventure. Looks like the city authority want to get some PR.
In modern time the fact that it would be cheaper to do local farming in a city with high real estate costs defies logic of specialization of labor. BS.
