Also let people chose their medical treatments. The FDA approvals (if they're even continued) should be advisory, not mandatory. And prescriptions should not be a requirement for the purchase of drugs for the treatment of disease.

(The food and drug act, when it was first passed, was recognized by congress to be counter-productive if it resulted in more than a six-month delay in the release of new drugs. It now years and tens of millions to get a new drug approved. The delay in approving beta-blockers for prevention of secondary heart attacks, alone, has been estimated to have cost 400,000 lives.)
