66 delegates sent to the state convention with 66 alternates. Most of the Ron Paul supporters ended up as alternates including me. The slate was predetermined by those who were already precinct delegates from 2010, even though some weren't even in attendance. Most of us weren't allowed to vote because we had just registered for precinct delegate and therefore were considered guests. There was absolutely no talk of the candidates and the purpose of the event seemed to be lost as it was treated as a standard Republican event, promoting state and local Republican races. I will be attending the State convention in hopes of no shows, which we were told usually happens.
