As for the number Paul gets, it would depend, as you say, on how many are bound to other candidates. Originally it was 14 bound to Romney and 5 to Paul, with the other 9 split between Santorum and Gingrich. If Santorum's name ends up in nomination, then Paul would get fewer on the first ballot. There was also talk, though, of changing the binding to Romney 20, Paul 8, and removing the other two entirely. If this happened, Paul would also get fewer on the first ballot.

Either way, Paul will have the most votes on the first ballot, and it appears that Romney will have 5.
