John Bolton on War

John Bolton was only reflecting reality in saying that there were many factors involved in making the decision to go to war, i.e., nothing that could be reduced to some simple rule that would apply to all situations. I was only disappointed that, in so far as stating a "principle," he didn't think to mention the Constitution, acknowledging that it was Congress' job to be debating the circumstances and trade-offs and making the decision.
