Yes, Coolwise, I consider myself a devout Latter-day Saint. There are, of course, some who question my devotion to the faith, but they tend to be those who worship every random opinion uttered by The Brethren and trust in the Arm of Flesh, rather than clinging to revealed gospel principles.
The modern LDS Church is impossibly intertwined with "philosophies of men mingled with scripture." On my blog I try to sort out the true teachings as opposed to those we have merely come to believe are true through false traditions and vain repetitions. If we take seriously our tenet that God's restored gospel comes through divine revelation, then I think we ought to stop sprinkling in a lot of extra stuff of our own and calling it gospel.
