This is a shocking story. It interested me, because of an incident that happened a few months ago. We were going through security at Edinburgh Airport in Scotland, and passengers were selected at random for a pat down. They don't take people into rooms - they just pat you down with everyone else standing in line. It's no big deal, usually. However on this occasion, my wife was patted down. I wasn't watching, but she was not happy, and told the lady who administered the pat down that she had never before been subjected to such an "intrusive" pat down. The lady replied that if my wife wanted to speak to complain, she could do so. My wife chose not to - I guess because she felt that she had made her point, and complaining would not achieve anything. But I wonder if maybe she should have complained.
