Quote: "We all win when the competition to know better is shared, not kept secret, and people do not resort to deceit, threats of violence, or acts of violence upon the innocent to win the argument."
I do not understand what you are saying. Do you mean
A. I am using deceit or threats of violence, or acts of violence to win an argument?
Or
B. Are you saying Zacharias is doing that?
Quote: "… one of the derogatory statements made by one of the video links you sent had to do with a Christian who targeted believers in the Koran who claim that the Koran is precisely, exactly, the Word of God.”
I did not hear it that way.
What I heard was
A. the Koran could not be accurately translated into other languages because the very words themselves are the actual words of Allah and to change them to another language perverts the Koran.
What I believe Zacharias was pointing out was
B. he has trouble with the idea that the very words of the Bible are the actual Words of God such that a better word perhaps could have been used. The point being that the Bible is inspired truth without error, but its truth is not intrinsic to the exactness of each word as it stands alone.
In summary what I heard him say was
C. the Muslin regard of the very words of the Koran is higher than his own personal view of the individual words of the Bible.
I have allowed my feelings to be hurt twice: Once with Warren/Andrews and here with Zacharias. I am too invested in what you think of me, my thoughts, and my offerings and that has caused me to be angry with you after the replies on both of these subjects hurt my feelings. I can see I need to grow thicker skin and remove my feelings from the art of discussion, though it may not be nearly as fun.
