The history of Venezuela is not much different than the history of Iran, having Regime Change accomplished and having a very well paid Dictator torturing and mass murdering whole families who question orders, and then having a bottom up revolution (or nearly one) oust the U.S.A. Inc (LLC) backed Strong Man, and then have a more benevolent Dictator, more or less, replace the Yankee version.

If the people are kept poor enough they can't afford guns or ammo unless importers from offshore import guns to the "right" people, then the only one's "left" with guns are the "right" people, unless the LEFT have had enough and the LEFT collect all the capital in those forms from those rich, or foreign subsidized rich, "Freedom Fighters".
