The problem is...

We don't just want a Republican nominee because that the Republicans will unite around (Palin wouldn't fill that anyways, IMO). We want a Republican nominee who CAN defeat Barack Obama. In polls, Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who can actually defeat Obama, because he draws the support of Republicans, Independents and Democrats.

It's crazy to think Romney (who is a white-Obama) or Palin (who is not liked by many Democrats, and even Republicans) would draw the massive support that Ron Paul has. Most Ron Paul supporters would not vote for Palin, just as they could not vote for Romney. We are too principled to do something like that.

This is why the GOP is completely missing the boat by pushing for Mitt Romney to be the nominee. Do they not realize they are shooting themselves in the foot!
