Commercial free is just as bad...
The mind control aspect of TV is not only about advertisement or product placement.
As an example, we were staying at a hotel and the girlfriend wanted to watch "Shark Tank". If you don't know (I didn't), the ostensible premise of the show is that wannabe entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to wealthy celebrities in the hope of striking it big.
I feel like many people who watch the show think "Oh man! They're really talking brass tacks on Shark Tank. That's how powerful people make decisions. That guy pitching his invention didn't even make the cut! I've never even had an idea that good! I'm not worthy... I'm not worthy... " I think that's how imaginary TV shows lead to dangerous thinking.
How many people have you heard say "Bazinga!" in real life? I have heard more than a few unfortunately... I guess they expect a laugh track to kick in or something...
