This is a piece of propaganda and preconditioning for what's to come. Do not fall for it. It is actually worse from how it sounds.
If screeners notice anything suspicious, a passenger would still be pulled aside and possibly patted down.
Define "suspicious" - wearing a shemagh, having a beard, looking like an Arab, or wearing a long coat, or not wearing an artificial smile, but having a TSA-disgusts-me look on your face?
Screening could also speed up. Peter Kant, executive vice president of Rapiscan, which makes full-body scanners, says several companies are developing machines fashioned like tunnels that allow travelers to walk through.
Rapiscan is the company that produced hundreds of the overpriced, highly intrusive, ineffective and radio-active scanners deployed in pretty much all airports in the US and in many other countries. Now that the scanner contract is almost over, Rapiscan needs to replace all the existing scanners and sign another multi-billion contract for the "new technology that is safer and quicker." That's all to it. No one cares about your safety. Wasn't the USA almost broke at one point? Where's the money going to come from?! What's wrong with Washington?
Kant of Rapiscan says another challenge is how to pull aside a suspicious character if a group of people is moving through the tunnel.
So now they are going to heard the sheeple through a tunnel. Brilliant idea of another bureaucrat who cares about NOTHING but how to secure his next pay check from my bank account.
TSA, DHS, all the false security agents - let them all go and allow air companies to care for their cargo.
