AIPAC does have a powerful influence in DC.

This is a well known fact. However it is as many have noted here not at all black and white and for the Israelis it could well be a double edged sword. Here is a very good Dutch full length movie on the influence of AIPAC:

Please listen carefully to the testimony of the young Israeli diplomat near the end of the movie. This is very close to a prophecy of what awaits Israel.

Here is another video of an interview with Miko Peled who is a peace activist. Born in Jerusalem in 1961 into a well known Zionist family, his grandfather, Dr. Avraham Katsnelson was a Zionist leader and signer of the Israeli Declaration of Independence. His Father, Matti Peled, was a young officer in the war of 1948 and a general in the war of 1967:!

Miko Peled represents another side of the Jewish character that distances itself from the actions of the present leaders of that nation.

There is a reason why Israel has such a strong influence on America at the present time. They have been given an opportunity by God to bring forth the Kingdom of God in the Earth and that is indeed what they are trying to do although not in the way that will be successful and indeed will lead to the destruction of their city, their nation and their religion. This is the opposite of what the Christian churches who support Israel are expecting to happen.

There have been warnings given to the Messianic Jewish community that are described in the Harbinger series of teachings by Jonathan Cahn dealing with 9/11 but they have been interpreted as warnings to America rather than Israel and while this is true to a point the real target is Israel. While there is a promise that the American Republic will be preserved the Jewish State has been slated for destruction.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)
