Ronald Reagan was flawed, looking in a rearview mirror, but he did what was necessary to help collapse the USSR by proving to them the hard way that capitalism is stronger than communism. Ronald Reagan helped liberate Eastern Europe. Jimmy Carter couldn't do what Reagan if he had had 16 years to do it.
