government you (nominally) have some say in what
goes on.
How much say does you or anyone you know have about
what Monsanto does? The documentary "Food Inc." shows
pretty graphically what their position on liberty is - using
overwhelming legal force to force farmers to submit to
using their products - suing people for saving their own
seed, etc.
They show one guy who spent $400,000 fighting them without
ever seeing the inside of a courtroom - how many people
have those sorts of resources? (he had to give up and settle with
them anyway).
Corporations are allowed to have the status of corporations on the
condition that they operate responsibly. Government does have
some role in insuring that they do so IMHO.
