Comment: "IP is an involuntary
"IP is an involuntary
"IP is an involuntary contract..." Not true. Don't read the book or watch the movie if you can't abide by the terms of use. Entirely your choice.
"What license? These things only exist when mandated by government authority." Have you ever seen a EULA for software? That's a public license in that the software company doesn't personally know you, but they ask that you agree to the terms before using their product. That's an example of what I consider a public use license. A perfectly legit contract.
"Regular contracts, on the other hand, are voluntary on both sides, and certainly still enforceable." Which a EULA is... And a copyright or patent could be also. The government has got things messed up, but all IP could be done through public use licensing.
