Authors write to spread their
Authors write to spread their ideas. They don't write for money(but if they do intend to make money, they should be smart - people can use your words but they cannot replace you as a human). Therefore authors should rely on their own fame as the attributed creator of an idea.
Plus, they don't own their idea. Ideas have no marginal cost. They can be infinitely spread from mind to mind. If you don't want people to repeat what you say or write, never let those ideas leave your mind(zip your lips, when it enters the public sphere of thought, it's no longer exclusively yours - it will spread like wildfire).
