Comment: Ron Paul is a hero!
Ron Paul is a hero!
Life_liberty: You know, it's so typical of the type of person to write a post like this to start by claiming how obvious it is that something he/she previously perceived to be true is actually false and that everyone who believes it is true is an idiot. You are basically arguing with your past self. I believe you didn't have a very balanced view in the election either, you were probably saying that Ron Paul would definetly win and that everyone who didn't get it is an idiot.
You are saying that Ron Paul didn't do enough and accusing him of stealing the money he raised which really gets to me. You must understand that Ron Paul is not just a presidential candidate, he is a huge intellectual figure and he is running for president as an intellectual, not a politician. He has injected more issues and elevated the debate more than anyone else and by doing that he has succeded. Most elections in most countries do not have that. You should consider yourself lucky if you ever live to see it happen again.
The problem is not that Ron Paul didn't do enough. The proiblem is that too few rallied for him and voted for him. It's not easy to get people to do that but to blame Ron for not winning is just ridicoulous. If anything the grassroots should be blamed for not doing enough, not having better organization and not reaching out to people and I hate to say that because I know how much some of you guys have out into this.
And lib: "libertarians like celente " Celente is not a Libertarian. Celente is for direct democracy, mob rule at it's height. He wants the people to vote on just about everything. And he says he is a "political atheist" which just goes to show his lack of self insight.
Celente often brings up his track record, which sounds pretty impressive, but the guy is hardly a genius. I predicted this and I predicted that blablabla, if you go back and look it's rarely a very precise prediction. Celente is fun, he is an entertainer, he is like Jon Stewarts dismal cousin... But don't take him to seriously...
Ron Paul wasn't strong enough to go thrid party? really? he has allready done that in 1988 and in numerous interviews he has said he would like to do it again but he can't because the system is so biased and he won't get into the debates.
And he doesn't have "some high level ideas" - he is todays voice for classical liberalism.
And yeah, Rand endorsed Romney, big deal, he said years ago he would support the nominee and it sucks it's going to be fucking Romney. Hate Rand for it if you want to but remember Ron said "no way" he was going to endorse Romney.
