This is all just BS ...

An antiquated Nuclear power plant survives one of the worlds worst earthquakes followed swiftly by one of its worst tsunamis and only fails because of flooding of the backup generators ... and all nuclear power is considered unsafe? In my mind that just shows how safe it is. Move the backup generators and what is it going to take to make it fail then? ... a nuclear warhead?

Now, I am all for research and development of LFTR reactors ... but to shutdown current reactors over the fear that what happened in Japan could happen again (as in one of the worlds worst earthquakes followed swiftly by one of its worst tsunamis) is irrational.

Especially when the alternative is rolling brownouts and the loss of life caused by them.
