Here is the trick they play on you. They "bill you" for 36,000. But Medicare actually doesn't pay that much. If you want to find out how much they actually pay, it is very difficult. Insurance companies do this same trick.

It forces you to get insurance. If you don't have any kind of insurance, then you have to pay the, for example, 36,000 for the treatment. The insurance company actually pays them maybe 5,000, 500 of which you give to the company as a deductible.

It is a like lincensing; you need to have insurance to get access to the lower quote. Hospitals and insurance companeis work to drive people into getting private insurance.
