I think the ONLY thing that is going to "wake up" the vast majority of people like this is total systemic collapse. Dark Ages kind of stuff. They will tell you we ought to be more like the UK and Canada for health care, or model ourselves after Europe, and then talk about how Europe is failing. Never mind that the UK and Canada are both looking into changing thier systems for health care, and talking to the "man on the street" in those locations will get you all sorts of great tales that prove the points we all know, that this drives up costs, leads to HUGE delays in getting access to even basic care, etc.
But then, we're literally trying to unwind 2-3 generations worth of propoganda and programming. That isn't going to come easy. It's not going to come at ALL as long as the Fed and BoE and ECB and others manage to kick the can a little further.
