federal bldgs, coast guard bases, UT schools and hospitals which pay no tax, then we have 3 major charities that take from us by way of not paying taxes on massive real estate holdings/ property they own.
we have a $16b budget(in 2008, higher now im sure) and none of it returns to the residelnts.
Now they put paid meters on the Seawall in Galveston which was private

and the people here, many dont even realize just what the government takes from us and we have the worst school system in the country and designed to dumb the kids down.
now they place meters on our beautiful seawall which was built with private funds back in 1900 after 1900 storm wiped out galveston.
They are putting meters on a wall built to protect galveston and it is not city property. The gvt here should be admonished entirely.
