The worst offender I have seen is Monsanto. They modify a plant, like say corn, and patent the strain. Then they might plant their crop (some say deliberately) next to an organic crop. When the plants cross polinate, Monsanto comes along and files for infringement. To add insult, their GM crops cant reproduce and that is passed on to the organic farmer now, so he's out of luck next season and owes a bunch of money.
