is for people to believe that obedience to "authority" is a good thing, in and of itself. If you pride yourself on being a law-abiding taxpayer . . . if you cringe at the thought of someone considering you to be a "criminal" (you disobeyed a politician? Horrors!) . . . then it isn't some external authority that makes a slave of you. It's your own mind.
Fighting for freedom is all well and good, but when you set out to draw your battle lines, first look out for enemy infiltrators -- inside your own head. Probably all of us have a few. Or more than a few. Larken's book is a great tool to root the bastards out.
