"The bronze metal morphed into the zinc metal."

Very generally speaking, copper alloyed with mostly zinc is called brass (whereas copper alloyed with mostly tin is called bronze).

Historically, though, a whole lot of stuff has been called "bronze" so the term has no precise meaning.
