It's clear that some sort of evolutionary processes

have taken place, that is, with regard to physiology. But the theory of evolution doesn't explain everything. (It's just a theory, as yet unproven despite what some textbooks might say.) Furthermore, we are far from understanding how things work in the here and now, let alone what may have transpired to bring things about. I'd say that acknowledgment of the spiritual realm would need to be taken into account; but even if one did not believe in God or a spiritual world, he needn't suspend REASON to know that there is more than can be seen with the naked eye, more than just matter. For instance, Kirlian photography shows energy "auras," with various practical applications. And can you see a sound wave? Or the wind? "Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you: But when the leaves hang trembling, The wind is passing through. Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I: But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by." --Christina Rossetti. There are mysteries! I have faith that it's all there in the Bible - above our comprehension but that will one day be revealed.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.
