Point well taken but..........

I had thought that this was supposed to be a forum about the Ron Paul campaign and all things related. I have objected three times to religious postings with a theological content entirely inappropriate to the DailyPaul forum, or so I thought. I also wondered what does a 65 year-old defending himself with a gun have to do with the campaign? What does a posting about J.C. Penney have to do with Ron Paul?

I decided to check the "Posting Guidelines" for DP and found that it doesn't matter what the discussion is about, the rules allow any topic. Item 2 of DP Purpose: "To serve as an open forum for the honest discussion of ideas and the search for truth." This declares the site to be open ended and anything at all can be discussed in the search for truth, regardless of whether or not it has to do with the Paul campaign.

I was off base in my rebukes.

If Item 2 read "...for the honest discussion of (these) ideas and...," then I would have been correct.

At first glance Item 3, "...and spread 'these' ideas as far as..." seems to modify the "ideas" found in Item 1, but doesn't actually clarify if it modifies the "ideas" in Item 1, or Item 2. I'll cease to expect subject consistency on the site and take it as it comes, ignoring the irrelevant when I find it.

1. To keep Dr. Paul’s ideas and message of Peace, Sound Money and Liberty alive through discussion and practice.
2. To serve as an open forum for the honest discussion of ideas and the search for truth.
3.To share, practice and spread these ideas as far as possible in the world we live in. This site will thus remain in existence as long as there is a need for it, and as long as there are supporters willing to help keep it going.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.
