He did not raise a lot of money (less than $100k) and most of it was loans from himself. Liberty for All Super PAC played a HUGE role in this campaign as they spent over $650k on this race. His district leans Republican but the Dems see this as a huge pickup opportunity as Kerry is a political novice. We can't rely on the Super PAC playing the same role in the general election. This is a VERY winnable race. Kerry received more votes than both his Democratic opponents received in their primary today combined.
