Comment: Is David Axelrod stealing a march on his model Karl Rove?

Forgive me, but I can't make sense of what the RNC is doing; it seems bent on self-destruction. We all understand now why the MSM is helping the GOP to block news coverage of Ron Paul--they too fear Ron Paul's cross-the-board popularity--but if you play this out a bit further, it begins to make strategic sense. If the Obama campaign helps the GOP to keep Ron Paul off the ballot, just think what a field day they will have with the tactics the Romney Campaign had to resort to in order to win the candidacy. It fits right in with the Bain-bastard image they are building for him. So Romney will become famous as the cad who stole the nomination by hook and by crook, and Ron Paul--safely out of the running but with a huge following--will be the national hero crucified by his own party. Is this what Axelrod has up his sleeve? Wow. It could out-Rove Rove.
