Teach the teachers. Help those you love. ~ Mark Twain Library

Age old wisdom.

When I meet a teacher... a story teller, I show particular interest in what they have to teach. Sometimes I tilt my head sideways & perk up one ear with a quixotic expression. Sometimes words come to me. Oft it is just showing sincere interest in what they know. I try to listen more than speak! ... ... Most difficult challenge for me.

I enjoy when they break from their schooling & express what they really know. I leave them with the feeling that they taught me something important. It is best when the feeling is mutual.

The Mark Twain Library is a private, Association library, founded by Mark Twain himself as gift to the Redding community. He insisted on a public/private partnership, and today that relationship remains.
        Thank you!
