Don't forget that you are having a baby, not a pregnancy But enjoy both.

If you have a relatively sane and loving extended family, they are usually happy to help gift some of the bigger things you may need/want, like a crib or baby gates.

Toys and clothes will appear out of nowhere, esp. if you have a shower and let friends know.

Babies are actually pretty cheap because they don't eat or do much. My biggest 'surprise' expense was needing to keep the car in perfect working order - you really don't want to get stuck with a broken car in a snowy parking lot or highway with a baby on board. Can't blow off the engine light anymore.

I can't pretend to know anything about you, but like most libertarians, many degrees are being revealed to unnecessary and expensive. This viewpoint is gaining much popularity.

Mostly relax and have fun. You will soon meet a person that you'll love more than anybody in the world, and that's what's important. Reading about delegate strategies and fractional reserve banking and crap will seem trivial :-)
