"Boxer" = the American Public

You reference Animal Farm. Boxer is the ultra productive, incredibly strong and loyal draughthorse that carries the weight of the people and the cleptocracy.

His loyalty gets him in trouble. The Pigs (ruling class) are upset when he defends someone who questions their authority just by being popular.

In the end, when he is no longer productive, they send him to the glue factory. Perfect metaphor for the majority. Working hard, trusting, loyal, unquestioning... and being sold into serfdom.
