I can understand

the "benefit of the doubt" types and those folks who believe that this is all part of the official campaign/Benton's "plan" to secure as many delegates as possible at the RNC, stealth or otherwise, but every time Benton opens his mouth he creates chaos and disarray amongst the grassroots.

He is not helping. Now...I don't know if Benton's a traitor, a sellout, or an establishment mole, but its awfully convenient of him to basically not be a problem while the official campaign was taking everyone's money early on and then suddenly start fumbling every press release and public statement and putting the trainwreck on grassroots leadership right when the RNC delegates were really starting to come in for Ron. That really makes you wonder. And he's not the only one. There's several other guys in the official campaign that also give me pause, but that's another post.

Anyhow, it doesn't really matter. Everything would have gone so much better if Benton had just STFU. And that includes this latest mealy-mouthed statement from him.

Y'all can have your own opinions on Benton...but he should have kept his mouth shut from the beginning. That much is settled, imo.
