Huh? Bastions of liberty? More accurately, I would call them gulags for blacks and white critics of slavery.

I was merely pointing out the internal contradictions of American slavery and the long-term implications which would have been fatal to that institution and you answer me with generalities rather than specifics. Do you really want to have a serious discussion? When you chose to specifically address my points about the internal contradictions of American slavery as an institution, let me know and I'm game.
