I wasn't indoctrinated from day 1 but sounds like u were. Why do u resent it? Were u sexually abuse by a priest or did you learn your parents led double lives? Let me guess..A Catholic background. Why the Catholics, I haven't a clue bc I know nothing about their doctrine, but only that 99% of atheist I've met have a Catholic background.
My dad didn't go to church & my mom didn't teach me about religion. I had no one standing over me trying to scare me with hell. I didn't become a Christian until I was well into adulthood. Same with the philosopher in the video links i gave. I'm a Christian out of fear, yes, not due to a fear of hell, but more importantly fear of NOT possessing the extra advantages of the supernatural realm, in this life & beyond.

Everyone is tormented by fears. Afraid of the unknown. Afraid to have faith. Wanting all the blessings of life & afterlife & NONE of the harsh discipline of self-restraint & patient humility of ego. Ultimately people cannot escape facing their fears & seeing them for the illusions that they are.

You are subservient to your vices. A willing slave. So am I a willing slave to my Master, but my Master gives abundantly to me far better in return than what I relinquish, not the least of which is No Fear Of Death.

Should u fault me if I hate religions who sacrifice their children by burning them alive or who imprison kids as temple sex slaves? Or who torture, rape & kill them & women?

A fear of hell doesn't get you into heaven. Neither will a belief in God. Satan knows there is a God. Ur not excluded u've been invited, ur not coerced, God doesn't force you to go to heaven, just like you can't force someone to love you and stay with you. They have to WANT to be with you and God wants you to WANT to be with Him benefiting from the supernatural realm, where the impossible is possible. You've been given an extensive Owner's Manual. It's your responsibility, your choice. Take no man's word for it either way. Some people just don't want God to be real bc they don't like the idea of being beholden or responsible for their own choices.
Ask yourself How's the life you've chosen been working for ya? What u gain is the real treasure; another whole dimension of Power designed to benefit you.
God & taxes isn't interchangeable, they don't line up, in your Harry Reid scenario.

Galatians 5:1
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
