A Faint Memory about Kissinger on Negotiating Compromise

I think Kissinger wrote a book back around the '70s, & his strategy was to think up an outrageous, offensive demand(s) that he knew no one would accept & submit them along with the demands he actually wanted to achieve.

Let the people become outraged, debate, complain & worry.
Later, ask for what you really want & 'compromise' by dropping the outrageous demand.

Outcome: What you REALLY want will appear MUCH MORE reasonable and palatable to your opponent. So, the opponent 'is relieved' over the 'compromise' and agrees to everything you actually wanted to achieve in the first place.

It's using mind-manipulation, relative thinking, to one's advantage.

Don't fall for such tactics, & it would be wise to outwit them using their own tactics and this tactic.

Soon, they will be demanding support of Romney in exchange for something.

Galatians 5:1
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
