LP Chair on Ron Paul

Here is a statement by the Chairman of the Libertarian Party concerning the mechanics of substituting Ron Paul for Gary Johnson.

Bottom line is even if Ron were willing, it is not a feasible plan. LP bylaws make it very difficult if not impossible to change candidates. Unlike the Republicans, the Libertarian Party takes its rules seriously. Even if this could be overcome, the LP would lose ballot status in a lot of states immediately. A lot of states are in the process of printing their ballots already. Further, it would invite even more "legal" challenges to the LP's ballot status by the Republicans who are harassing Gary and the LP nonstop already.

Finally, if Ron bowed out due to Romney's threats to destroy his reputation before the convention, why would Ron do any different now?
