And that is the only area where Ron is out of step with the LP. Gary is out of step in 3 areas that I can think of. Gary supports "humanitarian" war, which is contrary to the platform. Gary supports forcing every small business to become a federal tax collector with the so called fair tax, which is contrary to the LP platform. Gary also supports a federal definition and mandate for gay marriage to be accepted by the states. This is contrary to the LP platform which calls for no government involvement in this area.
Ron is closer in pure ideology to the LP than Johnson is.
Also, the LP has had pro-life candidates. Ron Paul in 1988. Harry Browne called himself pro-life and while he opposed any federal laws, promised to do everything within his constitutional power to reduce them. Also, Michael Badnarik was 100% pro-life.
