Even though this post isn't about Gary Johnson and everyone is posting about him and only him... I believe you're right about him seeing as someone finally offered me that interview last night on my "prove gj is NOT libertarian" post... I looked and asked countless times and it took posting the way i did in the other post to finally get it.
As for Gitmo, it's the same as his stance on the Fed. Whether he understands the core reasoning behind why the fed is as bad as it is, he believes that if the things about it that are worth "ending"/closing are ended themselves... then it doesn't need to be closed.
You seem to miss the point he has about gitmo... if there's no indefinite detention and no torture of any sort and people are put through the system with their charges... then why does it have to be closed?
If the Fed is reigned in after the audit... doesn't try fixing the economy by printing more money and fixing our debt with more debt... why close it aside from budget cuts as an agency?
Then back to the point of that actual post.
If a person comes to you saying that you impeded on their liberty and they offer you evidence of that... and you ignore it... deny that you're responsible without considering the possibility... and show no respect for liberty that you may have impeded on... how is that being a libertarian?
