It'd be like meeting the man who raped...

...your wife or daughter.

Wouldn't it?

Sure he'd be mad, but when he realized you weren't going to kill him or injure him, he calmed down and wanted to make nice.

Not much consolation to the evil he already perpetuated, would you say?

What could he possibly do to make up for his past sins? What is done is done.

I hope he's happy with his 30 pieces of silver, and for selling his soul. Of course he won't be, and can't be happy. He is living a life of misery, with his gifts from the Establishment.

Ironically, he may have felt better if you tarred and feathered him. He then might feel he paid something. But as it is, justice has not been served.

It's even hard for you, the "husband/father" of the victim, to feel good about the situation.

The moral of the story: we need to rout out these rapists, and elect good men and women to their positions.
