To put it short, no people want war. No one wants to die. Jim Rogers puts it excellently in his book "A Gift to my Children" where he says in order to understand a people you must go visit them. He traveled all around the world and found everywhere he went, including Iran, the people just wanted to live their lives and provide a for their families. Governments and people who don't have to fight in superpowers are the only people who want war.
Rogers gives this example, when he traveled to Oxford University he saw a plaque with all the names of students who died in World War I. Some fought for England and some fought for Germany. These young men were probably playing soccer together one month at Oxford, then the next month they were killing each other because their governments couldn't get along. This is the sheer insanity we now call patriotism. Blindly following the orders of despots and tyrants only to have parents lose their sons and children lose their fathers. There have been so many wars fought based on lies of governments, so much death for nothing.
I say if you want to fight a war, go on the front lines, no matter the age or gender.
