It's always been this way:

NYT Bestseller list is obtained from the number of scanned/purchased books at Big Box Brick and Mortar Bookstores, like Barnes and Noble and Borders. Amazon never counted toward the bestseller list, but they could have changed their lousy unfair rules since I last checked.

Anyway, it still leaves a huge impression when it's on amazon bestselling list. Right now it is 14. Very cool.
