how I attack the drug war when talking with friends:
My most successful argument with friends and family that previously supported the drug war is pointing out that drug use is rampant in prisons. I tell them, look if prisons can't even keep prisoners from getting drugs on a consistent basis, then what sort of police state will we need to be living in before the can win the war on drugs out in America's streets and even in our rural towns. Once people see that even prisons can't keep drugs out, the admit we can't keep drugs out of a whole nation and agree we need to look at alternatives.
