You do know sir the Japanese have for centuries
been known to fire stoneware using nothing but wood for fuel? I know you don't like dealing with facts, but stoneware requires 2400 degrees. It is within the realm of natural occurrence for there to be enough heat underground to melt aluminum, and even steel for that matter.
But of course, you've already decided it was thermate, so you would be inclined to overlook such "trivia".
