Reality for any mass of people is at best, a collective hunch.

In politics, random numbers for projected spending are argued vociferously & budgeted accordingly. In accounting, those said same numbers are written neatly in row after row, subtotaled, then totaled, subsequently forgotten.

Revenue is strictly accounted down to 1¢ upon receipt. Subsequently, spirited off to the nearest central bank.

Now auditing, that requires wholly different set of books. You are left longing to divide by zero.
