Comment: Drop Medicare?
Drop Medicare?
Schiff doesn't seem to realize that dropping Medicare would do more harm than good. Yes, it's broke (stolen). Yes, the young people working today are paying for it instead of the money coming from what was paid in by the retirees who are using it. BUT, if Medicare isn't there to replace Grandma's hip when she falls will her children and grandchildren let her lie crippled in bed (in one of THEIR homes since she can't take care of herself) or put her in a nursing home at their own expense or pay out of their own pocket for her hip replacement?
It is actually cheaper for the young to go on paying for Medicare. Just call it a health insurance policy for Gram and PawPaw and be glad their health and prescription costs aren't coming out of your pocket at retail. Until government gets COMPLETELY out of the way of the free market and gives our economy time to heal you'd have to be wealthy or in a lot of debt to pay retail medical costs.
By the way, if the government instead of stealing Social Security funds had invested them at a simple 3%, seniors would be receiving a living wage now. Even though it seems the baby boom generation is taking out much more than it put in, it really isn't. Just another theft by the slime at the top.
