the NRA chose a Democrat with a wishy-washy position on gun control over a strong Second Amendment Republican because, "Roscoe Bartlett has no chance of winning". Representative Bartlett is presently running for his 10th term.
With the NRA, "Sometimes it is necessary to rise above principles." I read AMERICAN RIFLEMAN for 20 years and never once saw Jefferson's quotation regarding the Second Amendment. Given the NRA was founded by former Union officers should tell you something about the integrity of the organization.
