Comment: I'm no "Libertarian,"

I'm no "Libertarian,"

but I agree with the (l)ibertarian philosophy. I much rather do away with the FDA than keep it. Have you ever heard of the Underwriters Laboratory? They do tests on all kinds of electrical appliances / equipment and if it passes their testing they slap their "UL Tested / Approved" label, thus assuring customers the product is safe, and reliable.

But couldn't the company just lie and say it is safe and reliable? Well yeah, but in the free market, if a private company were to do that there would be (A) Lawsuits, (B) The loss of credibility, (C) The loss of business due to A or B.

With the FDA, drugs they give the "okay" get recalled all the time, they kill all the time, and they cause birth defects, and so much more ALL THE TIME. For some reason though, they never really lose their "credibility," but maybe that is because they are an extension of the govt, and have the ability to operate in any manner they so choose, they write the rules.
